Under the Capital Development Authority’s continued campaign to prevent sewage and garbage dumping on a permanent basis, many natural water drainage channels (Nullahs) running through various sections of the city have been cleaned and stone pitched banks.

The effort, which began three months ago, is now in its second phase, with nullahs crossing through various sectors such as F-6, F-7, G-5, and G-6 having been thoroughly cleansed and stone pitched in the first phase, according to CDA Member Finance Rana Shakeel.

In the second phase, he added, other natural streams flowing through other sectors, such as F-8, F-11, F-10, and G-7, were being cleansed and rehabilitated.

The CDA’s Machinery Pool Organization, in coordination with other wings, was implementing the campaign on a fast-track basis, he added, and the rest of the streams would be cleansed before the onset of monsoon season.
